This Foot Switch
connects to your desk stand via the 8-Pin Microphone Jack located at the rear of your microphone base. These Yaesu microphone bases contain a press-to-talk switch but using the FS-8CMP Foot Switch is a must when working pile-ups or contests keeping your hands free for logging contacts. The FS-8CMP is terminated by means of a cable approximately 6-feet long and contains a female 8-pin plug. The slide switch located on the rear of the Foot Switch selects a normally open or normally closed output. This quality built unit is made of metal and rubber construction for years of use including a skid resistant bottom surface.

OTE:
This Foot Switch is
designed for low current (dry circuit) solid-state switching in the (ma) milliamp range!  Typical Yaesu PTT switching current is approximately 1 ma requiring a switch exhibiting extremely low contact resistance.
Most foot switches found in the marketplace are sold for 120 volt AC / 10 Amp+ applications and not suited for dry circuit usage as the contact resistance will eventually increase resulting in an increasing voltage drop across the contacts and circuit performance may suffer or fail. Be sure to take this into account when purchasing a pedal for PTT applications.
