Many of these are Chinese-made cables of inferior quality and are not wired the same as PMKN4010B.  They are actually wired equivalent to PMKN4010A, not PMKN4010B.
Specifically, watch out for cables with the shield not grounded at the radio end.  This is a critical step often omitted by knock-off manufacturers, because it raises the labor cost.
Cable shield not grounded at radio end is equivalent to PMKN4010A.  Revision PMKN4010B (shield grounded at both ends) was introduced by Motorola in response to radios & computers being damaged by PMKN4010A.  PMKN4010B is the only safe cable to use.  MRE Cable #441 is wired equivalent to PMKN4010B  (cable shield grounded at both ends for safety).
If the cable shield is not grounded at the radio end, it is not equivalent to PMKN4010B.  Don't risk damage to your radio or computer.
Before buying this cable from another source, ASK THE SELLER if the shield is grounded at the radio end of the cable.
This new, high quality aftermarket cable (CABLE 441) is equipped with a USB male at one end for direct connection to a computer, and 26-pin MOTOTRBO accessory plug other end, for connection to the radio's rear accessory port, for programming the radio with Motorola CPS software
(software not available from MRE1032).
