Icom IC-706 (all versions) and IC-7200 Hi Volume Constant Cooling Fan NEW

Description

Offered here is a device to provide quiet constant cooling air for the Icom IC-706 (all versions) and the IC-7200 transceivers.  It is a small 24-volt fan that turns on and off with the radio.  It gets electrically connected to the Tuner Control Socket on the back of the radio and draws air out of the cabinet.  The fan is mounted to two plastic anchors wedged in the cooling fins.   There are no modifications to the radio.  No holes to drill. No wires to solder.  You don't even remove any covers.  The power is supplied at the Tuner connector.  The fan includes an extension cable to keep the Tuner connector available.  You can run both the fan and an external tuner.  Everything needed to install is supplied except for the screwdriver.  Complete illustrated installation instructions are included also.
The fan is a 12-volt fan that measures 1.5-in. square.  The fan is about 3/4-in. thick.  At 12.6 volts dc, It moves 6.0 cubic feet of air per minute.   When used, warm air is drawn from the cabinet and cooler air enters the cabinet through the other slots in the cabinet.  The fan draws minimal current (90 ma) at 12 volts and runs at all times that the transceiver is turned on.  The radio's internal fan is thermostatically controlled and comes on and off depending on operation.  At most times during receive the internal fan is not running.
The fan offered here will function the same on all variants of the IC-706 and 7200.  These radios are very busy inside and added cooling can only be a good thing.
This fan is added to the transceiver without even removing any covers.  Easy to follow instructions are included and the only tools need is a no. 2 philips screwdriver.
This fan is extremely quiet.
Contesters and Net Control stations will particularly find the fan valuable in cooling the radio.  If the radio is nested in a console or cabinet with poor ventilation and other sources of heat, the fan is highly recommended.  If the transceiver is mounted in a vehicle trunk or under a seat, the fan is a big help.
